What better time to face aging than National Nursing Home Week?
Established by the American Health Care Association in 1967, National Nursing Home Week provides a special time to show appreciation for nursing home staff and volunteers who provide essential care in communities throughout the country and here in Minnesota.
For family members and friends of residents, National Nursing Home Week offers an opportunity to recognize and thank long-term care professionals for the many ways they assist elderly loved ones.
For everyone, this week provides a time to think about ways to meet the needs of our rapidly growing senior population, now and in the future. Everyone wants to know that if they or their elderly loved ones need care, they will be able to receive it.
The week always begins on Mother’s Day—this year May 14-20. Check out this article in the Red Wing Republican Eagle for more food for thought on this important topic.
