“The reward in the long run is worth every bit of time put into your job,” says Julia Urdahl, a CNA at Prairie Pines Community Assisted Living in Fosston, Minnesota.
Julia’s grandmother was a RN and told Julia that if she wanted to go into nursing, she needed to work as a CNA at a nursing home to see if she liked it. Julia took her grandmother’s advice and is grateful she did.
“Getting to help other people in need is the best part of my job,” says Julia. “Getting to be a part of their life and watching them get better, knowing you were part of their recovery, is a great feeling.”
Julia emphasizes that all seniors deserve to age well. “Our seniors are the ones that have created a path for us to follow to succeed in the world.”
